Once upon a time ...

Lookin' good! Northwest Spirit in 1986.It all began for Northwest Spirit in early Spring of 1986. Decked out in a red shirt, white pants, an aluminum foil-lapelled vest and funky bow tie (check out that bad look on the right!) at a Division Contest in Auburn, WA, the quartet qualified for the Evergreen District Convention that Fall. And in October, Dan Tangarone, Wes Sorstokke, Chuck Landback and Tom Wilkie became the 1986 Evergreen District Quartet Champions.

When the quartet disbanded in 1994, they had achieved six International appearances--including two 14th and one 15th finish--and retired the Forest Grove Ballad Town Trophy signifying three consecutive 1st Place finishes.

Together again ...

Northwest Spirit at the 2005 International Convention in Salt Lake City, UTFlash forward to 2004 and Northwest Spirit is singing together once again, but with a slight modification in singers. Today the quartet consists of the following members:

Ken Habkirk, tenor (formerly of Counterpoint and Checkmate, and current Director of Abbotsford, BC's Voices of Harmony Chorus)

Wes Sorstokke, lead (also singing with the 2003 Evergreen District Championship Quartet, Friendly Advice)

Tom Wilkie, bass (also singing with the 1977 International Championship Quartet, Most Happy Fellows, and Director of the Federal Way Harmony Kings Chorus)

Chuck Landback, baritone (currently with no other group but this one, however he has five championship pins in his drawer!)

All have some level of International experience, with one member qualifying once, and another twenty-one times. Can you guess who is who??
